Press Release from Ford (October 2000)
Ford Racing Technology (FRT) today unveiled Focus FR200, a 304-horsepower, turbocharged version of the Ford Focus ZX3. Focus FR200 made its world debut during the Innovations Day luncheon at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas today.
Tom Kendall, four-time SCCA Trans-Am champion, and Dan Davis, director, Ford Racing Technology, drove the vehicle through a barrier at the debut.
Focus FR200 is the second in a series of performance-parts project vehicles created by FRT to develop and market new lines of parts for the performance aftermarket. Kendall told the gathering, “this car drives like it is pissed off.”
